4 Ways to Make Your Content Better

A lot of people want to know how to create better content.

Of course, wanting to make great content and actually doing it are two different things.

Content creation is difficult. Integrating the practice into your lifestyle is challenging.

If it weren’t, more people would be doing it and everyone would have 1M followers.

Today, I have something that will make it easier for you. These are the strategies I have used to improve my content over the years. I invite you to use what works and leave what doesn’t.

Here are 4 simple ways to make better content:

1) Study Your Favorite Creators

  • Use posts from other creators as “templates” for your own

  • Don’t plagiarize (obviously)

  • Pay attention to sentence structure, story flow, and recurring patterns and themes

Example: I studied a blog post from James Clear to help me write the introduction to this email.

2) Use Visuals and Examples

  • Pair appropriate video clips with your voice in a cinematic-style TikTok/Reel

  • Ensure the video/image coincides (perfectly) with the caption

  • Get specific by using concrete examples in your writing

Example: Don’t write, “He made me feel sad.” Instead, write, “When he didn’t show up to our date on Saturday night, I felt dejected, sitting there all alone.”

3) Adopt a Consumer’s Perspective

  • Eliminate unnecessary words to keep your writing ridiculously simple

  • Work with an editor to improve your posts or join a program like Personal Brand Accelerator to get direct feedback on your work

  • Keep your audience in mind – Would YOU find what you’re saying to be valuable?

Example: While editing this email, I read it out loud to myself and pretended to be you. I asked: “Would they find this useful?”

4) Create Every Day

  • Focus on building the habit first and look for results later

  • Create consistently even if it’s only for 20 minutes a day

  • Reward yourself for small wins

Example: Take yourself out to your favorite restaurant once you’ve reached a goal or milestone.

Paying attention to which of your posts are performing the best will help inform your strategy moving forward. Remember, joining a program like Personal Brand Accelerator can help you improve your content and increase your followership even faster.
